Why is health insurance needed?

You are covered with basic insurance via your HMO by the Israeli law.
This basket of services is the same for all, however, it is very much exposed to severe budgetary constraints which in many cases leaves behind the pace of technological developments and lack to provide modern medicines and advanced medical services.
In order to enrich the basket of services, all HMO's offer supplementary insurance (SHABN – additional health services) that provide solutions for daily medical needs, consultations with doctors and discounts on the purchase of special accessories.
Additionally, "Shaban" provides limited response to complex medical needs such as transplants and surgeries.
Trax insurance plan was built specifically for the employees and their families and is based on the fact that most of the employees are insured with "Shaban" plan through one of the local HMO's.
The insurance plan was built to meet these needs and to prevent double insurance by having low & special premium rate.
Therefore, we do not recommend canceling HMO's plan.
